Did you get started? How far are you into the Gospel of John?
It's time for some details! The first part of The Challenge is due on April 27th. By that point - you need to have read the entire book - that's less than 3 chapters a day between this posting - and the 27th. You need to pick two verses to memorize...... but you can't include the famous "Jesus wept" - the shortest passage in the entire bible. Some have suggest using John 3:16 as one of the verses -'cause most of you already know that one. You could ... but hey! This is a Challenge - go for something new!
Here are the points we'd like you to consider and then write to us about.
You can respond in a number of ways: if you don't mind others seeing what you think - you can just post a comment to the BLOG. Many of us are a leetle bit more private than that ( go ahead - correct my grammar) - so the other option is to put your reflections into the comment box on the right of the blog page. The easiest strategy would be to write into your word processing program and then cut and paste. Alternately, you can use the CONTACT US on page one, call Rosanne and talk about it, or send an email. Remember - if writing is not "your thing" - talk to one of us about a different way of showing that you are connecting with God's Word through this Challenge.
Here are the prompts for your refection on the whole book as you read through.....
* who do you think John was writing this book for?
* what overall themes do you see - is John repeating something - or emphasizing something? (hey - there's a hint...)
* what new thing(s) did you learn about Jesus as you read through this?
* what's your favorite part - or name ONE of your favorite parts.
* remember... you need to do the memory part
If you felt convicted about something as you read through the Gospel of John.... pray about it...and talk to one of us about it... or talk to your parents..... Hmmmm maybe you might think about talking with your parents all they way through this challenge - bet they'd love to hear what you're thinking....learning.. feeling....
